Updated
I’m Ngo Quoc Dat. I make OSMates on my own, from Vietnam, and I run this site. This page is about the beta list, the one place on the site where you give me anything.
What I keep
- Your email address, if you request an invite.
- When you asked, when you confirmed, how many emails went out and when the last one did. That shows you agreed, and it stops the form from flooding anyone’s inbox.
That’s all. The site sets no cookies, runs no analytics and loads nothing from other companies. To stop abuse of the form, it counts requests from each IP address for one minute. It doesn’t store the address. Cloudflare, which hosts the site, sees your IP address when it serves a page, as any web host does.
Why
To send you the confirmation email, your invite and emails about the beta. I don’t sell the list or share it with anyone.
Your consent
I only keep your address because you agreed. You agree when you press Confirm on the page the confirmation email links to. You can take it back at any time.
Who handles it for me
Cloudflare, Inc. runs the form (Cloudflare Workers), stores the list (Cloudflare D1) and sends the emails (Cloudflare Email Service). Cloudflare keeps a log of each email it sends, with the address and whether it arrived, for up to 30 days. If an email to you bounces or is marked as spam, Cloudflare keeps the address on a list so it doesn’t send there again.
Cloudflare’s privacy policy
Where it’s stored
Cloudflare processes data in the United States and in the other countries where it runs data centers, so your address leaves Vietnam and may leave your country. Cloudflare’s data processing addendum covers these transfers.
How long
- If you don’t confirm, I delete the address 48 hours after the last confirmation email.
- If you confirm, I keep it until you unsubscribe or the beta ends. Then I delete it.
Your rights
You can ask to see what I keep about you, correct it or delete it. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and using it deletes your address right away. For anything else, write to privacy@osmates.com.
Complaints
If you think I’ve handled your data wrongly, tell me first at privacy@osmates.com. You can also complain to the data protection authority where you live. In Vietnam, that’s the Ministry of Public Security.
Changes
If I change this page, the date at the top changes too.
